...what else would I dig? I need more songs about men in floral print ties.

There are a couple great Edu Lobo LPs from the early 70s - "Cantiga De Longe" and "Missa Breve" - that are in the zone.

I would wait for Aser and Joe Mojo to weigh in. There's a couple other dude's that can prolly offer some great recommendations.

Yes, but what is his stance on gravatas floridas?

I think this thread is turning into 'Brazilian male singers in general'! You should check out Caetano Veloso's 'Transa' if you haven't already. It's got some of the same moody early-70s vibe as 'A Tabua'.

More on the soul side, I really like Cassiano's "Apresentamos Nosso Cassiano", arranged by Lindolfo Gaya. Such a beautiful record, and kind of slept on because it's lacking braeks.

The one that's been really killing me is a little out of scope of this thread. It's the 1972 Dorival Caymmi LP. A mix of traditional Bahian religious and work music with bossa and choro. Heavy stuff, and it's also arranged by Lindolfo Gaya.
