This is in response to that happy birthday thread
And for the bonus oh-shit-this-takes-me-all-the-way-back-to-last-week-when-the-dj-dropped-it-and-I-fronted-like-I-hadn't-heard-it-dropped-the-week-before-as-well moment, Blahzay Blahzay's Danger.
You might want to replace Mass Appeal with Dwyck and maybe OC's Time's Up needs to be worked in there as well (maybe not though).
How about Say No Go.
Who here owns every one of these 12"s?
If only I had #3 it'd be
Got the euro remix 12" too with the Fly as Pie mix. Real sure I haven't played either in 10 yrs.
Nostalgia?
C'mon! I saw them do this live when they toured with tribe and de la when it just came out.
Oh and Where's Del "No Need for Alarm" in all this?
yep, i agree with the adds/edits except for "I Get Around". Not that its not a good song from the era, but it doesn't get near the spins as the other songs in that context, from what I've observed.
I need a replacement for "I Get Around", bu I think Del, while stylistically and chronologically on point with the list, doesn't make it either. Maybe I've just been to the wrong shows.
I swear I Get Around is a str8 sing-a-long.
Yeah--huge with that crowd. Dudes who will insist with a straight face that it's Pac's best record.
Doh! #15, Common's "Ressurection". case closed.
as much as it fits in the era its not really a dance floor gem IMO
At this point, "G Thang" is one of the most playing-it-safe "old-school" selections on the face of the planet.
If anything, "I Get Around" should be HIGHER, much. Maybe it's a Cali thing though.
In contrast, I can't remember the last time I heard "Chief Rocka." Or "They Want EFX" for that matter. "Time's Up" was a good inclusion.
How about "Just a Friend"? Or doe the Biz get a lifetime pass?
