Obviously these finds do not contend with the yard sale score and are not rare but most of them were $1 and are part of this weeks finds. I hit this spot and was real lucky with the HipHop/House clearance. I also picked up about 15 classic house records by MAW, Ten City, etc... at pretty similar prices. (unfortunately this is a reissue) I had to get that Sugarhill back, can't live without "Passion's play" LL Cool J - Big Ole Butt(Promo),Spinbad - Rap vs Hip Hop,Shyheim - On & On(DJ Premier remix),Edo G - Love comes & goes(Previously unreleased insrtumentals),DJ Cam- Love Bounce,Dwele - NTM - Laisse pas trainer ton fils,D'Angelo - Lady(DJ Premier remix),Ramp - The old one,two(Previously unreleased)
Not really feeling the Los Bravos but such a perfect copy. Been passing over that Lloyd Price LP for years, I have the "Bad Conditions" 45 already, but this copy was too clean & cheap to pass up, and it does have a couple of other solid tunes.
Lulu was a Waxidermy recommendation, definitely has it's moments.
Yabby U was a local find - cheap, clean and total
Cover on the Artistics is roached, but the album is outstanding! On a par with their contemporary labelmate Billy Butler's "Right Track" LP. It's that good.
And another great set from Numero - more Detroit labels, please!
but, i did wake up to a phone call from my boy tellin' me my track ("I Know") from the Playboy Tre' mixtape "Good bye America" was on the XXL Magazine review online.
A buddy was just telling me about one of his biggest come-ups, a random garage sale in Utah. Old radio station manager, with box after box of mint/unplayed promos for a quarter a piece. Said he had so many the dude didn't even want to count them. And sold him his massive stacks for $20.
My addition to the thread will be a mailbox score of a longtime 7" want
It's the weekend! Found these batch of goodies at a yard sale. About 75 cents each. Theres about 150 records or so, and about 75 of them were sealed! Got another large batch to look through on saturday. Stoked.

does of course not compare to either grope's or that nasty stack of sealed heat...
some trades in there btw: rising sun lp, the psych joint on ovation, the jimi tribute on europa heads know the deal, resource lp and the upper right one.
Found this. Looked interesting so I took it home. Steelband records are not really my thing but this one contains quite a few burners...Aint' no Sunshine, Message and Caterpillar (Lou Donaldson) are great and have funky drums.
There's a bit of a story behind these finds. The guy that originally bought these records was a hoarder, or a packrat. He bought things and never opened them His house is full to the brim with collectables, records, porn, old liquor etc. He was walking through a particular part of his house and all the rubbage collapsed on him. The fire department came, resqued him after 2 1/2 days. After seeing the mess, they made him clean up the place. This dude is 75 and looks like Gandolf. He wasnt able to do it on his own. Luckily his neighbor came and helped him clean up the place and sell off all the worth while stuff. I'm told there are more in the basement.
Yuck i didnt even think about throwing those on my bed!
do any of you know an LP from an artist named Donny McCullough? its on EMC which is an indie out of los angeles and it came out in '81. just picked one up and cant find any info on it. boogie and soul ballads on there that are pretty nice.
the results of the last few dyas real world digging - -all preety inexpensive (the "wildstyle" came from boney - cheers mate)
couldnt leave the ENO - "another green world" behind even though i already have it (its a spare if anyone needs it) the MAMA LION is pretty ace funky blues - very ott vocals though. great version of "aint too proud to beg" the "moving percussion" exotica lp is fairly mad -- but side 2 is called "electronic sound pictures" - so i couldnt leave that one eaither... JAKI WHITREN is sounding lovely at the moment, as is the BERT JANSCH. nice to grab them each for a quid or so... the LIGHTHOUSE is pretty fun happy-clappy popsike/ horn rock with a few nice breaks tunes (another spare) the BEDLAM - i thought would be ace - killer cover + cozy powell on drums. turns out to be boring hard rock. oh well
the lone 7 ofthe bunch is "spingalong" - easy listening, bought for the fun cover - pleasently suprised to find it contains ANITA HARRIS's cool version of "watermelon man" that was on the "songs in the key of death" mix...
Not too much digging this week (skinny pockets). I did manage to hit a thrift on my lunch break on Friday. Got a stack for $.80 each!
Finally got a copy of Shaft in Africa! Eclipse is a private rural Indiana Southern Rock LP that's worth a little loot. I didn't think it would be my cup of tea, but when I brought it home, the very last track "lady of the movie" totally shreds!!!
