i cant help myself, but i need something to touch; softsynths are like porno instead of
Logic's environments suck. Worst part of an otherwise intuitive DAW.
There is 8 instrument tracks that should respond to midi channels 1 to 8, like a multi-timbral sound module.
Buy a 100$ midi keyboard (or a more expensive one if you choose)
Send the midi keyboard out to pro tools in A
Send the pro tools out to mpc in A
Make your beat on the mpc
When you get to the point that you want to add soft synths, turn on PT
Open a new session and set the bpm to the same as that on the mpc
Open the session info drop down and send MTC to midi out A
On MPC, open the Sync menu and recieve MTC on midi in A (make sure the frame rates are the same, they should be standardly set at 30 methinks)
hit play on PT, boom, MPC is in step
Open your soft synth on a instrument track or open rewire and get busy in PT and let the mpc slave
when you are done, mix it up or hit play and record to dump MPC into PT
