Dude was also a Golden Gloves contender in a significantly *ahem* lighter weight class than he ended up. He performed in a club where I went to school at, I heard the ticket price and didn't go. I heard he did an hour set, 20 min. upright and the rest sitting in a chair.
The weight thing always floored me. I remember seeing a dozen pics of him (at an even later time period than the one above) looking handsome, fit, & healthy but he chose to say "fuck it" and completely let go of his health to become a cat that can barely make it up the stairs to the stage at a venue. Felt for his family after his death but not for him since he obviously didn't give a damn about himself. A fatal heart attack at 28...that's crazy.
