is there anything else on Monument worth looking for?

Well, Seventy-Seven is basically Monument, so the Joe Simon, Roscoe Shelton,
Sam Baker and Ella Washington records are all worth getting. I think you found
the Ella Washington, while I still haven't. Saw 2 at FMU but dudes were asking
like $125 or some shit. Otherwise, Monument is basically a country label, so
outside of Roy Orbison and Tony Joe White there isn't much going on.

  • How do you rate this Jon? There was a NM copy in a collection I picked up yesterday but it's all still boxed up.

It's pretty standard boogaloo with some electric guitar moves; good but not great (7/10). Most of the tracks sound very similar to this one:

I have the Cream LP top left, that's it though, pretty cool joke post though. Funny story about that Cream LP is one year for xmas my mom asked my dad for a Queen LP & that's the record he bought her, he now wears hearing aids.

What do you call it when you see a pattern and fill the rest in with your mind? Gestalt something?

    Yeah, it's gestalt.

I went out to the flea market late in on Sunday. Didn't find much to mention a couple Nonesuch avant classicals, Rare Earth Live with no sleeve, B.I.G. single, et al. Sorted through a lot of Haitian looking stuff.

I'm not sure why, but I'm convinced that someone;s avatar was the cover to this one record (no pic) Gold Album by Sex Machine. on Debs.

I am pretty psyched for a Paul Hindemith record that I found. He made audio collages with Ernst Toch In the early thirties using film reels. He's an important guy in teh history of sampling, so I'm interested to see what his other stuff is like.
