since a few years all the european borders are gone and people are free to travel and work within the eu when you have a european pasport.now every country has his customs, products or events that are tipical for that country. we drink belgium beer, eat frenchsticks and smoke dutch weed.but what can we call tipical european ? what can we buy on the whole continent or what do we europeans have in commen (bside our dislike of the us or the eurovision song contest)?I believe these are a few. add on.

not sure we hate the US, just their dumber politicians, and same can be said for all the world's dumber politicians. Personally, I love America!

Typically European: a disdain for the rest of the world
    an over-inflated sense of importance
    Romany gypsies

Snickers (the UK was iconoclast with the name "Marathon" until the 90s)
    M&Ms
    Skittles
Lynx deoderant (although it's called "Axe" on the continent)
    Colgate toothpaste.
Guinness (although I did manage to get Newcastle Brown in Caesars Palace)

    add on.

This is a very bizarre thread.

As I'm English, I don't I really feel that European, (a little Welsh at times maybe). Not sure what you want out of this thread? Things that unite us? well maybe football & fascism. 'European Icons' I wouldn't have a clue, is there such a thing?

    Historically speaking.

Although you wil find a fair amount of racism / sectarianism / xenophobia / even fascism, in a many football grounds throughout Europe. The Italians and Spanish love a bit of fascism.
