Akai S950 - Low Output Levels

I know a few folks on here have one of these. Real easy machine to learn coming from the MPC 60 and the filter is nice.However, I can't get the output levels to a reasonable level to run straight into my A/D interface. Is this purely a design flaw or am I missing something within the s950? Does Forat do output boost modifications on these?

I got the same problem. also get some hum noise when I gain it up. Thanks for the link, I'll try out the stuff tomorrow and see if it helps.

Yeah that basically confirms what I thought. Time to get a DI box.

Old thread but just in case I could help:

You all are making sure the sample is in a keygroup first right?
