What is the Correlation btwn Records Collct& Cats?

Hey peoples,Why is it that a healthy proportion of record collectros are cat owners/fanciers/ aficionados? I very rarely buy a collection that doesn't have some cat hair on a few of the records. What gives? Do cats mesh with the record collecting loner lifestyle? Do all record loners have cats? Do records lead to mice? I am really curious about this phenomenon.

From the title of this book, I would say the answer is somewhere inside. Aspergers is a highly functioning form of autism. I knew a child with aspergers that could relay to me information about potato chips and the doritos franchise the same way this board delves into beautifully mundane subtlety, rich in music recording history. But you know, kids like chips, and they trade their lunch
Cats will use records in place of a scratching post. (RIP covers of my dad's record collection)
Cats require you to keep a box of their turds in your house.
Cats have sharp claws and tend to be such jerks with them.
I'm a dog person myself.
you can leave your cat alone for a few days while you go on diggin trips, a dog is either goin with you, going with someone else to watch it, or youre gonna have to make arrangments to have someone come by and look after it. a cat you just throw down some bowls of water and make sure they have plenty of dry food out, oh yeah and empty that litter box before you leave. i love my (other people's)dogs though.
my cat has never ever pooped or pissed anywhere but his litter box,now if i could get him to throwup in there that would be champ.
he has also never ever used my records for scratching posts, he does have 2 real posts and one of those flat cardboard things to use. however i do put shit records on the ends of my shelves for when he decides he wants to run up the sides of them.
i dont really mind the litter box because if you empty frequently it doesnt smell, im talking at least every other day here. saves walking his ass in the rain when he gotta poop right?
your last point i cant really argue with, my cat has attacked me more times than i can count but as he gets older the attacks are fewer and farther between.used to be every day now its about once a month.
i like both cats and dogs though, but i tend to be allergic to certain dogs. i think this may be more on the owners not bathing them though.
Unless you exaggerate the "p", this always ends up sounding like ASSBURGERS when you say it aloud.

haven't worked in the field for a while but recall too many dipshits at the mall trying to obnoxiously inquire about the overactivity of the yoots.
It's been a rough week for me, my cat Marlowe, whom had
lived with me for over 7 years, passed away last Tuesday,
somewhat unexpectedly. Many won't understand or may laugh,
but she was very close to me and I am still upset beyond words,
I keep forgetting she's gone, I was so used to her always being
there. Many of you saw her, as she did like to creep into my
"weekend finds" pics ... here's a photo of her from the very strange
week or so when she decided to live inside a potted plant

My wife and I have three cats and I would be all fucked up if one of them died.

Finding her hiding in a cabinet and thinking she was just
asleep, only to discover she had died, was seriously traumatic.
I haven't really recovered from that moment, and I may never, to
be honest.
Only advice I can give is, if you think your cat MIGHT be sick, get
them checked out. I was used to her having little phases of not eating
for a few days or not leaving a certain chair or room for a week, or
whatever, and was therefore a little too patient when she showed
signs of illness, thinking it would just pass like before - never did I
think she was in danger of dying, until it was too late.

What a Bummer. I am very sorry to hear. I had an equally tramatic experience a few years back with my cat B.K. that I brought back from the V.I. Its so hard to find them that way, especially when its unexpected. I hope you feel better soon.

This is my cat Kareem. I never wanted a cat but five years ago my girlfriend at the time had to find a home for him or he was off to the shelter. He was a cool cat and I couldn't stand the idea of him being put down so I adopted him. Five years later, he's the greatest cat (come on, look at that photo) anyone that's been to my house remembers him for sure.
