    Michel Gondry can do no wrong. In lesser hands I could see this being shit but Gondry has that magic touch.

    Not even Mos Def getting his salad tossed by Mia Farrow could make this a good movie. Mr. New World Water is no Richard Pryor and Jack Black is no Lou Costello.

    Well, Black fit the part in High Fidelity; he's not always bad. But the honeymoon is certainly over.

    I've disliked the last 5-7 years of Jack Black's career, but he delivers a very good performance in the new film Margot at the Wedding by Noah Baumbach (Squid and the Whale director).

    BTW, Chapelle was originally attached to Mos Def's role in Be Kind Rewind.

    I just think the concept of making no-budget versions of
    Hollywood blockbusters has potential to be funny ... but
    it could go either way, and I'm no huge fan of anyone
    connected with the film, so I'm going on concept alone.

    ill still see this though, they should support/promote by releasing some of the movies virally. and of course internet only exclusives.

    the team behind Borat owned the internets prior to that movies release, the characters home and myspace pages were so well done.

    superbad was well promoted online, but for me borat is #1.

    that original mars landing transformers teaser made many a geek shit his pants in anticipation as well.

    this movie needs heavy online promotion and seeing as i saw the trailer months ago and nothing since, and spend my entire workday online ill bet the promotion will be crappy at best.

    ho hum.

    talking about online promotion, www.funnyordie.com are ruling exclusive comedy virals right now. ONN are good, but funny or die are great.

    seriously! i cant believe people are pretending like this is gonna be bad.
    ive been wanting to see this since i heard about over a year ago.
    it kind of looks different than what i first expected, and the
    mia farrow part has me worried, but i think his attempt at a
    blaxploitation movie will at least be fun to watch.

    bridges was a pretty good movie, especially considering how terrible the book was
