    So sick

  • this shit was playing yesterday on the TT. great piece of vinyl right there...

sorry i blocked the name but im not prepared to give that up yet. local bay area group that has an awesome record. tunes were recorded from '72 up to '80 and released then as well. modern soul sound with synths and horns and very danceable... great soul ballads and this ill funky instrumental thats kind of EWF... extremely dope...

Yo J, I did not know you actually COPPED that record!!??

Congrats, fucking dope lp and probably fairly unknown.

Daze, is that Hi-C lp hella hard to find? I swear I see them from time to time...you ain't getting mine tho! (will keep a lookout)

only time I've seen the full LP I was at a store here in LA and the dude wouldn't sell it cause it wasn't priced...ARGGGHHHHH

I DO have the "Leave My Curl Alone" 12" with the Automator Activator remix

  • You got that newer one, "Let Me Know" with Quik yes?

If not I got an extra of that, I really dig that tune and keep yanking it out of the dollar bins.

how much does this go for?

    As for me. nothing rare:

    Grant Green- Alive!
    Bobby Bryant- Earth Dance
    The Main Ingredient- Euphrates River

  • This is simply a lovely rare groove record with a lovely colorful cover. Includes the classic disco break "My Love Supreme". Lots of rhodes and a nice deep disco sound. Tough to find.

Noel McGhie Space Spies(quintet), real dope mid 70's jazzfusion, fender steez with McGhie's funky drumming....very soulful with traces of Miles Davis(fusion),... definitely a nice piece!

wow. that looks just like the one i sold on ebay a month ago. ring wear damn near identical...shed some light on your find homie...as for the record, it is mos def a but still

I found it last week in an overstock bin at a local record shop - the group were a commune of NY & New Mexico-based bus-travelling jesus freaks, but it was recorded at a flour mill in northern Michigan which is probably why a copy was even around here.

it has the lyric booklet too

A couple of really good deep-soul elpees:
    Israel Tolbert[/b] - Popper Stopper(Stax)
    Milt Matthews, Inc.[/b](Commonwealth United)

I got this at the Comets On Fire show a couple of weeks ago.

It's not often that a record enters my life that I must play 4 or 5 times a day, but this is one.

It's called Field Recordings from the Sun. Loud psychedelic guitars played with effects pedals nailed to the floor, jammed through an echoplex unit. It's pretty much what the title describes.

damn thats great. i hope you got it for real cheap and plan to pay rent with it like i did. mine had no lyric book but i also found it in a weird way. went to the dopest burrito spot around called PATTYS. spent all the change i had in my car on food then walked over to the thrift store broke. got that and a few other lps on an "I OWE YOU" note. a great day. its also odd that im southern california and that the thrift store has never had a good record since.

I offered a decent price on it - the dudes at this shop run anything unpriced I try to grab through popsike cause my taste is just so fucking good...

I like it quite a bit, there's plenty of other 'rent paying records' sitting around that would hit the ebay auction block before this thingamajig.
