What's up Texans? I'm gonna be out there November 26 until 28. I'm going to meet with a professor at UT on the 27th, but the rest of the time (not that there's gonna be so much of it) it's just gonna be me and my pappy chilling. Any recommendations on vegetarian food, and not to be missed stuff would be appreciated.

Hell yeah! That's what I'm talkin about. I can sllip into a little bit of a chicken lapse, but my dad is strict vegetarian, thus all of the Mexican spots in the other thread were enticing, but I'd be weary of bringing my dad to any. Thanks for input.
but that list in this thread is probably more than enough to keep you busy.
this place burned down....homeless dude tryin to cook a steak outside accidentally set fire to the place...can u say irony
They just re-opened about 2 weeks ago.
I'd recommend Trudy's migas enchiladas with refried black beans. I'm a big fan of their Mexican Martini's also.

Manuel's ceviche =
what's up with ceviche in texas (maybe this is strictly a tex-mex thing) being served w/ ketchup?
that is straight up nasty... i had it once in Austin shortly after landing there in '05 and i had to throw it in le garbage.
ceviche is delicious though!
I wouldn't call those fish sandwiches at Burger King ceviche J/K
Where did you get ketchup with ceviche though?
Never seen that...yuck though.
They put it in cocktail sauce... which to me, tastes pretty much like cheap ketchup. I'm not that big on ceviche myself though but it seems fairly popular here.
Cocktail sauce is for oysters and shrimp and it's typically made of ketchup, horseradish, and lemon juice.
Ceviche is sometimes blended with some sort of pico de gallo, but ketchup or cocktail sauce???
I'm still eager to hear who mixes such a bizarre concoction.
