Yo,I was thinking of old school tv shows this week. Lots of my favorite shows aired on a Canadian station called TVO or TV Ontario. I don't know if its still around but it was kind of like the Canadian PBS by my recollection. They had some original progreamming like "The Polka Dot Door" "Today's Special" & I guess they got stuff from other countries. They'd show Dr Who, Sesame Street, etc... I'm sure Canadian heads here will remeber a show called "Read All About It". That dude Duneedon used to freak me out:I started looking for info on these shows on google. There's a pretty solid "Read All About It" fan page, along with some stuff about "Today's Special" & "The Polka-dot door".I even found a site with audio clips of TVO theme songs. Here is a link to the site:http://www.angelfire.com/tv2/tvothemesongs/These are some of my favorites. The Dr. Who theme song is pretty awesome. http://www.angelfire.com/tv2/tvothemesongs/drwho.mp3Simon In The Land Of Chalk Drawings has some flavor:http://www.angelfire.com/tv2/tvothemesongs/simontheme.mp3Electric Company was frickin' BRILLIANT. Sol was also great. Never helped with my french class much, but still entertaining to watch for some reason...

I used to hate Fable of the Green Forest, but for some reason or another, I still watched it...
LOL - Me too. I especially hated that bird and its horrible voice. There must have been nothing else on at that time (and we didn't have cable). Memory lane for days! Literally - I'll be thinking of 5 Shady Golfway #1209 in Flemingdon Park watching that crappy show and eating PB and crackers all week now!
Just to bring it to today really quickly, TVO has possibly the best progam in Canadian TV right now - The Agenda, Steve Paikin is just fantastic.
I remember Fables being on around 6pm or 6:30pm, so the only other choice would be watching news. And watching the news wasn't really on this 6 year old's agenda. Hence, watching that annoying ass bird on Fables of the Green Forest.
I strongly agree with the sentiment that TVO still has the best programming...

I'm really looking forward to seeing this...
haha finally i find someone that remember's that shit...it used very depressing colors, it used to actually scare me with that wamprat beaver seal looking creature. it was godawful.
u know what i've been searching for ages? that footage they had before shows of this kind of lumberjack dude moving logs in the water and then all of a sudden it turns into a cartoon version and they sing some song like "he goes merrily merrily a long the water, a lumberjacks wife ladadee" or something. y'all know what im talking about? it was such a catchy song!
I pretty sure you're talking about Log Driver's Waltz - it's an NFB animation and it's probably on YouTube.
remember this shit?!
Exterminate...Exterminate!

Wasn't Simon on TVO???
I remember getting excited when Mike Myers on SNL did the skits where he took from it.
