Found half of these during a storage unit (my own) reorganization. The rest are field finds or store walk-ins.

  • odd pressing of this as it is usually "Al Brown" and the tune is "The Whip" parts 1 and 2, this flip is a really nice mellow head nodder with creepy organ...cool tune

(had to borrow L***y's pic for the last one...record is at home)

that spirit record is a personal favorite of mine. one of the better gospel records out of ohio... at least in my collection. nice re-find! nothing quite beats going through your own vinyl and finding nice pieces.

What is the deal with that Let It be Me LP? Is it original work, or does it recycle tracks from her other releases?

I haven't listened to it yet, but the liners do refer to her passing in 1972. I'm guessing it's recycled material and there may be a few previously unreleased cuts.

    Here's the track list:

    Fugitive From Love
    Things I've Been Through
    Let It Be Me
    Hypnotized
I'm So Glad I Found You
If Only We Had Met Sooner
    When Hurt Comes Back
    I Do

Crazy how we were just talking about the H & TB!

uh, yeah, I can believe it - I feel the same way.

but it's always better to know the record that didn't
live up to your hopes is worth more than you paid, right?

    ... that's assuming you didn't pay $40 for it ...

fleamarket digging has been pretty good - soul 45s in their natural state...

cool LA gospel soul group & some related productions they did

swinging hillbilly instro - sort of a cult label for 'real shit' local collectors - akin to...

    great hillbilly gospel

Detroit gospel group from the 50s - awesome Chicago label - sister label to...

    hard-times Gary Indiana blues

    some albums

    more albums, unfortunately..

the Fela cover had this record inside instead - rare spiritual jazz

    awesome rare soul

MI funk anthem, but the cut on the flipside sounds like a completely different group - spacey white-man psych akin to 'if only i could remember my name' - I wonder what the story is?
