i'm bringing some of what's left of my reggae collection
& all the jazz & funk that dig dug doesn't buy at the radio shows
will be staying at the swanky park plaza
(& sleeping @ truckstops on the way to the austin to afford euro price shock)

how much better are the record deals on sun?
some dealers will sell their records for 50% less. which is usually a great deal. i bought most records on sunday afternoon. i think one dealer even had a 80% discount later on...
I'm pretty sure an apt is more expensive.
I never stayed there, but I think De La Haye Hotel not too expensive and right in the city centre, so conveniently located for pot smoking and hooker checking.
I'll probably be at the ARC sunday afternoon.
I will get in Thursday night.
Friday night WAXPLOITATION! does a heavy funk & soul 45 party. I think the psych hotel party might be going down then as well but not sure.
Saturday night I think Friends of Sound is hosting the record party again this year.
What are the dates of Utrecht this time around?

Well, I was talking about Amsterdam... trying to figure out how many nights to stay there. NOT AUSTIN

I'm a little slow when I got records on the mind. Pointman's eyes glazed over.
Can someone recommend a good hotel close to the place where the recordfair is?
Do you need a dealers pass to get in on friday? If so, how can I buy it?
park plaza & nh are close, cheaper options are a bus or train ride away
friday has an early admission, not cheap, 50 euros maybe ?
Can you buy the "early admission" ticket from the door?
What time are they opening the doors on friday?

yes, you can buy an early pass at jarbuers, i think 9am is early admission
there are also people outside selling day passes on the dl,
sometimes cheaper than the official deal, not sure if it works

HERE'S THE DEAL:
SATURDAY 17TH NOVEMBER[/b]
If it is raining:
Dinner at FejMelbas place (central Amsterdam) he is a chef so it will be great.
If it is not raining:
Dinner on a boat that i will be driving on the Amsterdam canals.
Then:
There will be coffeeshop missions and, if there is time, NZshadows bar tour.
Then from 22:00 it is all vinyl all night in the newly renovated upstairs lounge at Boom Chicago on the Leidseplein in central Amsterdam.
Bring records.
Open decks for all strutters and i have just sorted the bartab.
Drinks on me fellas.
We are printing flyers and taking care of promoting the night.
It is a lounge bar, so this is a very relaxed affair, strutters, records, drinks, smoke and a crew of regulars down to hear good music.
Its on.
