Mac tech question???

so it's time for the big switch. i'm gonna take the plundge, and buy one of these:but I have one of these:with one of these:which protools no longer supports. is there any way to slave my old cpu to the new computer so i don't have to buy one of these:?????too much money all at once

    You won't be able to do that... Also make sure if you get a new Mbox or something that you get at least PT 7.1.1 or higher so it is universal binary. If you don't need multi tracking, the iMac has an OK 3.5mm audio input... Logic Studio and Express are both looking pretty good these days... Have fun with new Mac when you get it...

    Digidesign has a trade-in program for the 001, check it on their website. I think if you're buying an 003 it knocks about $200 off the price.

    you might want to wait till leopard (10.5) comes out in Oct before ordering.

    I traded my 001 for one of these and saved $900 w. the trade in. Mixing on a board is... I only paid $700 for the 001 so I actuallt turned a profit.
