what is the good? I've only been once, and I didn't see much of this city. Wondering about spots to check, places to eat, bookstores to nerd over, and anything else of interest. Gonna go see fam staying in Chinatown and I want to show him around the city if I can. Thinking about renting a car and driving down from NY. Otherwise I'd take the train down and use the transit to get around. Thoughts on what's best? Appreciate any help y'all can offer.

  • you dont need a car in philly unless you live in the suburbs

walk around chinatown...walk to 2nd and market street in the evening and check out the art galleries

go to south street and penns landing

take a nap in rittenhouse square

get a broccoli rabe hoagie at tonyluke jr. on 17th st.

  • The Book Trader is a large used bookstore on 2nd right off of Market and is a few storefronts up from AKA Music and Big Jar Books. Afterwards if you stay on 2nd and cross Market head down the hill to Chestnut and look left Eulogy is a great Belgian joint with some of the best beer in the city.
