What Have I Got Now, What Good Am I Without You, My Young Misery, The Pain Gets A Little Deeper (recorded at 14...), Gotta Draw The Line...i may be hyperbolic sometimes but some of his recordings were really this guy needs a proper compilation.Just sayin.

    Shockingly good: "Improve" on Atco. From 1977. Insane takeoff on "Superstition" - no disco influence AT ALL, just solid funk. You can hear this on the What It Is funk box set from last year.

    Also recommended: both parts of the spacey "Now Is The Time For Love" (on Genna, I think), as well as "My Judgement Day" (Groovy), an unusually early (mid-'60s, I think) protest song, back when most soul outside of the Impressions was still about love and dancing...it's basically a laundry list of teenage social concerns (including gangs and flirtatious girls), but with an ominous edge that is definitely two or three years ahead of itself.

    Yeah, Darrow Fletcher needs a compilation album yesterday!

    easier said than done - on a budget, at least.
    Have the Revue, Uni & ATCO releases, love them all ...
    but I do feel like I'm missing the best stuff.

    Yes, you are missing the stuff on Jacklyn. Brainwreckingly deep. The 45 on Genna is good and cheap too.

    massive favourite with the UK mods in the mid 80s - any Darrow 45 always filled the dancefloor.

    Think his only British release was Pain Get's....on London in 66.

    Luckily we had a warehouse in Manchester full of old soul record where we got all the Groovy releases for ??2.50 each !!
