People need to cop the infinitely cheaper Japanese P-Vine comp of the 1st 2 Just-Ice albums instead...

Or just wait for the Traffic Entertainment Group to release it once and for all...

    http://www.pinnacle-entertainment.co.uk/artist_details.php?artistID=36799

Buckynaked - the seller - tends to get a lot of old school items and tacks on a price w/ a HIGH premium...

Price Check: anyone know the goin' rate for an excellent clean copy of 12:41's 'Fresh is the Word'? on Sleeping Bag Records (12" vinyl)? Ostensibly the 1st Boogie Down Productions recording, produced by Mantronik...

Dude has it listed as "still sealed", yet the photo clearly shows the cd case opened?

Couldn't you just go to the used cd shop & buy one for 5 bucks?

i love these threads where dudes who ostensibly pay upwards of three figures for rare records on the regular scoff at people paying similar numbers for rare compact discs or cassettes.

why don't you guys just go get stark reality out of a dollar bin instead of bidding $$ for it on ebay?! LOLz!! Or you can just download it!

Not this CD. Late 80's hip-hop goes against the "LP's are rarer than CD's" philosophy: in this case, finding an out-of-print album is much harder in digital than analog format. $100+ is the going rate for early Just-Ice, Masters of Dynamite, Steady B, etc. on CD.

Also, a lot of people who are into old school hip-hop don't have a record player. Non reissued CD's command a premium.

...meanwhile I can save all those hours (days, weeks) spent hunched over the same old boxes of Andy Williams in 100 degree weather just sleeping in and spend the same amount of money getting the handful of nice/grailtype pieces you've found over the years (in better condition)...

True. But something about me just enjoys waking up early after a drunken night of DJing, getting some fresh air and a leisurely walk with the wife, copping the odd Brazilian rarity or two on the cheap (along with some miscellaneous common DJ fodder), and taking a nap in the afternoon as you wake up only to wonder where all the records went.

Either way, I just want to spotlight this again:

    I will.

But one request: stop putting your fingerprints and food-expiration stickers on the wax dude.

And next time PM me before you take stuff to NPB

    Hi,

I know where you're coming from & have now doubt that a lot of hip hop cds & tapes will be/are worth dough, but this is readily available online as an og on cd. There are also 4 copies of this up at the moment...

Ha. Damn, the day dots are still on there. But, I have plenty of DJ fodder if you're interested. Open for trades as well.
