Burning DVD's On A Mac Question (NRR)

I have a Macbook which has a DVD burner, but everytime I burn a DVD, it's only playable in my computer, rather than on a DVD player. I usually just drag a file to the DVD icon that pops up after inserting a disc. Do I need a specific program to do this?

you'll need the freeware app Mac the Ripper to rip the dvd and Roxio Popcorn to compress and burn it to dvd.

  • Ah, I was hoping the solution wouldn't involve buying software. Thanks for the responses though.

The latest version of the afore-mentioned Toast can do it all for you in one click, I believe...
