    Actually from Sunday.
Bought about 150 reggae 7"s. Swore that I would only keep ten tops. I kept eleven, shoot me. The rest are in the shop.

    I-Roy - Magnificent 7/Leggo Beast (Puppy)
Tinga Stewart - Rainy Night in Georgia (Hit Bound)
Super Roy - Flying High (Sounds by Monk)
Linval Thompson - I Love Marijuana/Jamiacan Collie (Thompson Sound)
Bob Marley and the Wailers - Roots/Waiting in Vain (Island)
Joe Gibbs/The Happs - Virginia Skank/In Heaven there is No Beer (Gibbs)

Trinity - Big Fat Thing (Belmont)
Dennis Brown - West Bound Train (Observer)
    Jablonksi - Soul Makossa (Randy's)
Lloyd Williams - Reggae Feet (Supreme)
    Gay Man - U.F.O. (Harry J.)

Maxx - 200 Years (Mainstream) a great psych 7" from last week.

Also found both Rodriguez LP's on Sussex and they both lived up to expectations.

Is that the one they rep in the cheapies section of Acid Archives? Or is it the one with the weird reddish art with green "Joy Of Cooking"?

my friend called me from the auctionhouse being like "theres some roy ayers albums here, want me to bid on them?" i closed the store i work at just to go check they were OG's...one box, lots of mid-late 70s soul releases without sleeves (jbs was one of them unfortunately), then a few sleeved lps, the coffy has a cut corner but aside from that it looks PERFECT, hardly even any ringwear. i told him to bid the whole box up to $60 at the most but he got it for 10. he's gonna split the records with me but i get the coffy and jbs at least.

he also got himself another stack with a nice copy of electric mud for $6.

i also got some cool 60's stuffed animals for $1.

exciting! i should request wednesdays off from now on to go to the auction house. one time i saw a 1992 Mistubishi Mirage go for $50. not to say thats a great car or anything, but im fairly sure it ran.

  • found these on my lunch break today for real cheap. super clean too. Rebel Rock is on repeat right now. will try to post audio soon...

    Rebel Rock

    Soothing In The Mind

all from side b of rebel rock. the last song puts a pretty grating effect on Rico's trombone, but I can still enjoy it.

Pena is a dupe for the grip-n-flip.
Clare Fischer is great! Latin-jazz-fusion with nice keys.
Like the sound on much of the Blues Magoos, too. BRAEKZ YO

Was out of town travelling for work... stopped by few 2nd hand spots and grabbed the following.

Erma Franklin / I'm Not Ready For Love (Shout)
The Bar-Kays / Sang & Dance (Volt promo)
    Lyn Collins / Think (People)
AC Jones & The Soulettes / Hole In Your Soul (Imperial)
Rex Garvin & The Mighty Cravers / Raw Funky (Uptown)
Fabulous Counts / Get Down People (Moira)

Then it was my birthday yesterday and I pulled the LPs, from a local spot using some credit I had there. All ex radio station stuff WISN 11 from Milwaukee that they shop has bought in bulk (by the kilo I think).

Ashantis - Let's Stay Togther (Red Bus)
    Les McCann - Layers (Atlantic)
Ryo Kawasaki - Juice (RCA promo)

And a couple of little dude mailbox arrivals... thanks for the heads up on these Soul Sides

The Superlatives / I Don't Know How (Westbound)
    The Impressions / We're A Winner (ABC)

Nice birthday week musically, heading to the Hawkes Bay for a few days of wine and food, DVD watching and hanging out with the v. pregnant g/friend now.

The track with the same name on the Fusion:II record by Urbaniak is better, and actually "goes funky".
