Sorry for jacking the photo Jonny, congrats again my man!!
I would be interested to hear/know about the Lovelites LP too. What does this go for?
Solid Sweet Soul. It's truly satisfies my heart.
Wasn't it JP that posted this back in the OG MP3 post?
I was wondering about this one the other day.

Record Day upload an album thread ... and then went
on to regret it somewhat, ha ... but it is a fantastic
album that I have yet to even get a sniff of the OG, so
his MP3's are still what I listen to. Here's one of them:
As for Terry Callier, I fall into the "unmoved" camp, which I know
puts me at odds with the vast majority of people on here ... maybe
I need to get married or have kids or grow up or something before I
truly "get" it ... I have held onto the MP3's of that album, waiting
for the time it grows on me, which I full admit it probably will.
I think Reynaldo uploaded the copy I have, here's the title track:
Wow, that's pretty tepid. I passed up a cheapie disco record of his the other month because I thought it wasn't that real shit. But maybe it was.
oh shit
i read the wrong name
sorry man
thanks Soul
While I can understand a certain amount of response to the album as a whole it does surprise me that people could hate on Dancing Girl which has to be one of the loveliest chilled tracks I know. Unfortunately the rip I have at hand is only 160kbps which doesn't really do it justice but hopefully it should give an indication of how great it is.
to be honest it took me a while, but I fell in love, sure enough.
some nights right till I play the last song, I drop this record. People hate it and love it. It's just one of those records.
Fatback Band- People Music is one that I need and will most likely enjoy because I like "keep on steppin".
Archie Shepp- Fire Music (only have listened to the title track)
Does anyone else "hold out" and intentionally not listen to the entirety of the LP (even though mp3s are readily available), so that they will get a better experience listening to it for the first time on vinyl? I do...
On Dancing Girl, the line "Tell him what your gonna do, boogie bop or boogaloo"...is that where they got "it's 92 so what you wanna do, barbecue or boogaloo" from on Live at the BBQ? Just a thought.
Don't even get me started on that record! It was on the shelve of my local record store for more than two weeks, for 6,50???, OG!...and i did not pick it up [yeah, that just happened]...aaaaaaargh. I feel so bad. Duuuuh (insert ass-hurt graemlin and little dude graemlin times two) I promise, it will never happen again!!!!!! File under: Grails you missed.
do you have any audio on this?
would love to hear?
i heard it contains sweaty nuggets.
Dude, please read the thread before coming in here and getting me unnecessarily exercised.
I do NOT have this sweaty nugget. This thread is for records you have always wanted to hear but have NOT yet heard.
i'm not very well versed
Of all the mixes I've heard about but haven't heard, I always wanted to hear this.
once called the "one best boogie albums!"
I think I may have heard 1 track?
