I've yet to meet someone who could identify this one joint for me, so I thought I'd try the Strut: I had this song on a pause mix tape (which was lost a while ago...) around '95. It was Snoop featuring some dude who's name I don't remember, and it had looped drums from that Lamont Dozier "Out Here On My Own" lp. Sound familiar to anyone??

which dozier song exactly? tell me that and i can probably tell you the song.

  • The one that starts with that drum break - I forget the title. But it doesn't sample the song itself, just a loop of the drums.

Nah, that's not the one dude. Thanks anyway. It's a mellow flute loop over the Dozier drums, and during the hook it's just Snoop over the drums and then the loop comes back in for the verses. Don't know if that helps...

Oh and the dude who was on the song with Snoop was called Tech Capone or something sounding like that.
