I did mine as rough versions on the turntables at first. Just to figure out the tempos. Then I did the rest in pro tools, without grids or anything, just beat matching and edits. I'm sure there is an easier way to lock stuff in. I'm still running pro tools on OS 9 so I am a bit out of it. From what I have seen of Ableton it seems like that would be pretty useful.
That's similar to my approach, but with turns and cool edit pro (thanks peter Q) for the multitrack biz. No grids as well, cause I usually am messing with non- quantized rhythms, etc...plus it gives a more 'organic' feel to the edits. Much of the time I'll have a live blend that I play out first, then eventually make a dildo-friendly track. Sometimes it's cool to make a 'kit' as well...ie. an edited instro and acapella seperately made to match up phrase-wise. This way the choruses and buildups come at the right times when doing a live acapella blend.
thanks for the feedback. i just use zshare cuz its quick and people can preview stuff before they download. never noticed popups. i use the newest version of firefox so maybe they are blocked on here
Aight this is the first time I have shared anything as I have been too bugged to put anything out there for you fools... but this has been one of the best threads for remixes I have witnessed annd I ain't Sofia Coppolla son!
ENJOY this Bone Thugs Remix me and my homie did..and let me know what ya'll think..
im feelin all of these. For the jay z one the voice sounds a little too high pitched to me. If you havent done it already maybe hit the keylock button on your Microwave so that the voice sounds better. Good job though keep makin em.
