WOW that Espanyol goal in extra time with 10 men on was AMAZING! I thought the red card to Moises was totalbullshit, he got all-ball on that second yellow.I'll hate to see it come down to penalties, but whata comeback for Espanyol, back from the DEAD!

Oops i thought Sevilla was knocked out by Osasuna
i stopped watching after they were beat 1 nil in the semi's.
Shit Sevilla won it
For the most part of the game I was really impartial to who was gonna win, but after seeing Sevilla playing so sloppy after they made the 2-1 I was starting to root for Espanyol. So I was glad they scored, too bad they didn't bring it in the penalty shoot out.
But for real, Higuain's goal was something else right? It wasn't even the goal itself, but the way he got up from the tackle.
Anyway congrats to Sevilla.
I was rooting for Espanyol only because Sev have been winning
everything and it seemed like the Espanyol fans deserved it more.
And holding on with 10 men and scoring without it being a penalty
or free kick after giving up the go-ahead goal in extra time, they
really won me over and I was cheering like they were my local club ...
it was pretty deflating how they crapped out on the penalties ... after
playing so hard to give themselves a chance to win, they couldn't keep
it up until the last.
Tell me about it - as a Tottenham fan I could only acknowledge
that they were the far superior team when they dispatched the Spurs
(although only with a 2-2 draw and a 1 goal win on aggregate) in
the semis at White Hart Lane. When Sevilla are on, their control
of the game is so natural ... and seemingly impenetrable.
seriously, no decent team wants to be in it anymore. Champions League is where its at. Come on Liverpool
Liverpool stand no chance.
Just so you know, no one refers to Tottenham as the Spurs, they aren't like the San Antonio Spurs. It's just Spurs.
jealous Utd or Chlesea fan??
Liverpool are the favourites, and they will win, I guarantee it
Yeah they're very strong and rapid.

Thanks to Palop
Well, somebody does, 'cause I just did.
I have a hard time not using articles of speech,
but for the glory of the game, I'll try.
maybe you should ring your solicitor and have him settle it over a cup of rosie.
come on you reds.
It was just cos I read something discussing the proper use of footballing nicknames pretty recently.
American hacks, perhaps unsurprisingly, get very confused when talking soccer. "Some sportswriters don't know how to refer to teams without nicknames, or with nicknames that are used differently to the ones they are used to," says Mike Murphy "The most frequent error I have seen involves Tottenham, who are often referred to as 'The Spurs', much like the NBA's San Antonio Spurs."
The same could be said the other way, however. "Even the Guardian sometimes makes mistakes when referring to American clubs," continues Mike. "I have often seen articles omit the "the" prior to LA, saying for instance: 'Beckham signs with LA Galaxy' instead of 'Beckham signs with the LA Galaxy'." Similarly, as many of you noted, plenty of English journalists continue to call Internazionale "Inter Milan" - pretty much the same as calling Arsenal "Arsenal London". Stephen Douglas also points out that we should really know Bayern Munich by a different name. "Munich is the English word for the city called Munchen in Germany," says Stephen. "However, Bayern is the German word for what the English call Bavaria, the German state where Munich is located. By all rights, we should call them either Bavaria Munich or Bayern Munchen."
Van Persie, when a girl says no, molest her!
Yes - and, despite my aloof response, this is
something I was curious about, as the television
commentators will always just say "Spurs" with no
"the" ... and I read a book recently about the early
days of the NHL in Canada, and was surprised how the
author would never use "the" but just say things like
"1929 was a good year for Montreal Canadiens - in April
Canadiens beat Maple Leafs for their 8th Cup victory."
I thought it was just poor grammar, but apparently it
is just the British/Canadian way when speaking of sport.
I used to think the same thing, but last night's game was serious. Sure, it's the runner-up cup but those teams arent exactly chopped liver.
re: Spurs
I thought this was a football thread? so in this context spurs are Tottenham. I hear announcers call them that all the time.
re: Milan v Liverpool
even Ferguson is betting on Milan. So am I. The only reason they went down the first leg of the semi against ManU was bc Gattuso was out. You could argue that ManU went down in the second leg bc Evra was out, but that would be facile. Milan came out strong as hell and with kaka and ol Seedorf pon the attack, boy, Liverpool might have to walk alone without a trophy. Milan just looks too strong in my view, but every day is a new day in football.
is this some kind of sick joke?
seriously, bookies have em 10/11 to win
well what a surprise. I would have keeled over if ol whiskey nose had backed the Pool to win
all you nah sayers will be eating humble pie this time next week
Milan's coach Carlo Ancelotti believes Liverpool's technical limitations will make them more dangerous opponents in the Champions League final than Manchester United, whom his team brushed aside in the semi-finals.
Ancelotti, whose side are desperate to banish the memory of their defeat by Liverpool in Istanbul two years ago, said he regards next Wednesday's opponents as technically the weakest of the Premiership's top three clubs.
"Of the three English [Champions League semi-finalists] I would have preferred Manchester [United] in the final," he said. "Partly because we got a view of them in the semi-final both at Old Trafford and San Siro and partly because they [United] are a technical squad who play and let you play. I don't get the feeling that will be the case with Liverpool."
I hope the Champions League Final will be more exciting!
On ladbrokes its
Milan 4/6
Liverpool 11/10
Milan are the better team, I dont think theres any doubt about that. Seedorf, Kaka, Pirlo, Gattuso is the best midfield in the world if you ask me. Totally ripped Man Utd apart. They want it bad as well after 2005. I predict a battering.
jealous Chelsea fan now.....battering I think not. Milan are pretty much the same team as 2 years ago, couple of fringe players have come & gone, Liverpool are a much better team then 2005, you'll be choking on that humble pie next week aswell
Added on to to Europes oldest defence..
