try to differentiate between the 8ball string washed post hustle taint slippers and the speedball pre-house razor re-edits. somewhere between Moroder and Tee Scott. also watch out for dudes who can rap for 25 minutes.

THIS IS ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT DISCO HEATERS... http://www.disco-disco.com/tributes/larry.shtml

  • There are a couple of big disco dealers on eBay who post soundfiles. That's one way to get some ideas.

please to show me this club/party in the SF/bay area. i will dance like Haring at the Garage - or just a dude whos happy to hear some "not-98.1-played-out-old-school" good disco tunes.

That's more like it. And for Cerrone "Give Me Love" is the real dancefloor track IMO.

Yes, and the album it comes from has three other dancefloor burners as well:

    Goldmine
    Lollipop
    Phizz Phizz

These three tracks were also released on 12 inch singles with different, better (IMO) versions. Seek 'em out.

I've noticed that Brass Construction often gets hated on, but they've got quality tunes on every LP all the way into the early 80s IMO.

"Tommorow Is Now" is the one I'm feeling at the moment.

Add "Super Disco" by The Rimshots . I like that midtempo disco stuff.

    THE LOVE I LOST

also there's one delphonics song that has a cool lite-disco feel, really great vocals, i cant remember the name off the top for some reason

also love the Change song "Angel in my Pocket," real underplayed in my local disco experience.

I can't hear "Supernature" without thinking of the Benny Hill spoof. Probably just me.

Twennynine (Lenny White) - Peanut Butter
    Mandre - Freakin's Fine
    Gene Chandler - Get Down
Prince - Sexy Dancer, Soft and Wet
Jones Girls - Nights Over Egypt
A Taste of Honey - Rescue Me
    Kano - Holly Dolly
    Roy Ayers - Freaky Deaky
    Arpeggio - Love and Desire
    Foxy - Hot Number

I love The Break by Katmandu but that tends to scare people.
