Sold! Ha ha! That CD has been temporarily replaced by an mp3 disc entitled B. Cause Slapperz of what I believe to be every damn remix you've ever posted on the internet. I swear, dude, you need to start charging like $2 a song or something. You spoil us waaaay too much.

As far as the little column goes, I'm really disappointed that the picture came out so shoddy. It does not do justice to my boy Marco's talent:

(Is it showing on your end?)

Bonus props to anybody that can find the 'Strut-Related cassette in that pic.

Wrong! It's the fact that Daze has name-dropped each and every one of the artists!

PROPS (dropped the same day as my weekly )

That article had me rolling. I'm 99% sure that Fat Boys S/T was my first cassette too and I bought that Quiet Riot raer back then.

That Circus magazine quote was comedy.

    Exactly.

I grew up on that LP, as did many of us Tucson Chicanos. For me it was the bridge to my parents' music. I mean, my Mom was a disco queen bumping the heck out of some Donna Summer, so when Linda dropped that album covering all the songs my Mom and Dad grew up listening to, of course Mom was gonna support. (Dad, however, being the macho "stick with the familiar" kinda guy he is stuck to his personal favorites: Little Joe, Ruben Ramos and Sunny Ozuna.) She played plays that record so much it's forever rooted in my soul, more so than the traditional versions of those songs.

I made that shirt a couple months ago to pay tribute. When people recognize it it's some true "real headz know the deal" shit. I'll be at the mall or the swap meet and hear ladies my Mom's age whispering to their husbands "Hey, lookit!"

I had connections. Dudes were always giving M*rs their new shit but he didn't really care for any of 'em. Basically I inherited most of 'em from him.

Someone should photoshop Daze standing there against the wall.

Hey Herm, do you have the Mixed Practice tapes?

Hey Herm, do you have the Mixed Practice tapes?

Nah, all I have is one song off a comp my boy dubbed for me back then. Check the tracklist:

    - The Juggaknots "Romper Room"
    - Akinyele "Juan Valdez"
    - Mystik Journeymen "Tamika"
    - Bored Stiff "Intro" and "Explainin'"
    - The Fundamentals "Funeral"
    - Eclipse(427?) ft Peekaboo "Who's Next"
    - Whoridas ft Saafir "Town Shit"
    - Chino XL & Kool Keith freestyle from 92.3 The Beat
    - Disciples Of The Sound "Adrenaline Rush"
    - LMNO "One Small Fry"
    - Key Kool & Rhettmatic ft Saafir "Shapeshiftaz (Raw Mix)"
    - Ras Kass "Nature Of The Threat"
    - Freestyle Fellowship "Sunshine Men"
    - Project Blowed shit ("Treble & Bass" and "Solo Is So Low")
    - Sacred Hoop "Sauced In The Park"
    - Ganja K "Bud Berries"
    - The Almighty Arrogant "Toxic Urb"
    - Mixed Practice "Endlessly"
    - Eyedlmode "In The Mood"
    - Dereliks "Charlie Brown Christmas"
    - Gravediggaz & The Roots freestyle on the Tim Westwood show
    - 3MG's "Trust In Me" (this song was mislabeled on the tape as Miscellaneous Minds and was the reason M*rs and I clicked in the first place. The Jungle Book sample sealed our fate. Ghey I know.)

This tape was titled (and was my introduction to) The Underworld. It was the first time I had ever heard music from names I had only read about in Urb and the likes.

I recently obtained copies of all my old tapes. I can stand by that song.

There are others that I will disown if publically confronted, however!
