    Homeland Security is the number one career goal for the security guard set these days. A dude from my high school now works for DHS, and he was always that guy who got fed a ration of shit because he's pretty hefty, and wanted to get into a position of power. Nice guy, but definite power issues. He was a small town cop until he got the gig. You know the type: "You fuck with me now, but wait until I'm with the Gestapo. WE'LL SEE WHO'S FAT THEN."

    Dude's still 400 pounds, though.

    What exactly is a homeland security degree? Is it like "Super Security Guard" status?
    Do they have classes like Advanced Window Peeping & Proper Sunglass Alignment?
    I need to know these things.

    yeah. i couple of guys i work with are big into this shit. it's a little more than parking lot patrol security guard, but i'm still a little on it. after 9-11, the coast guard got scooped up into the dept. of homeland security. i'm not really feeling the new mindset all that much.

    most people with dhs degrees go into intel analysis, chem. biological prepardness and countermeasures, border "security" and emergency readiness/response.

    for the guys that want to be in the field...for the most part it's mostly grown men that want to play real life cops & robbers, wear ugly sunglasses, and shave their arms. the intel analysis part seems decent though.
