    I thought it was anything but that. The much-circulated Biggie "translation" had an unpleasant "why can't those people speak proper English?" subtext that I didn't care for one bit, whereas this is actually funny.

    I dunno, I think you may be taking it a little too seriously. If the joke's at anyone's expense, surely it's those critics who can't resist the impulse to deconstruct and over-intellectualise every aspect of pop (and more often nowadays, rap) music. As for its necessity, I guess it's no more or less necessary than any other light-hearted spacefiller you might find in the Voice.

    Annoyed as I am that I had to read something printed in the VV, this was indeed very funny. Someone over at Blender is wondering why they didn't come up with this first.

    i like the song. fuck lyrics. the song goes. i thought the piece was funny, but you get in the first 5 lines that he isnt serious about it and i didnt feel it was necessary for him to write or for me to read the whole thing. that said, venn diagrams are my schitt right now.
