MPC 2000 MIDI Haelp

I've always kind of ignored the MIDI function on the 2000 for some reason, and every time I actually try to read the manual to see how it works, it ends up never working. I have the standard 2000, which I use with Logic Pro 7 which is what i'd like to sync it up with. Could someone be so kind as to drop some knowledge as to exactly how I can do this (all cables needed, process, etc)? Many thanks to anyone who can help...

there will be detailed instructions somewhere there how to do it.
all you will need are 2 mini cables for computer i/o.
