feels so good 12".....not on the lp

NO DOUBT!!! actually the 1st brand nubian song, right?

yup, this is their first single - even had a video as i recall. who has that masters of ceremony album though?

  • Damn, what a classic...and then they broke up so soon. I don't think I ever saw them perform on the first go around (though I kinda feel like I did, but I have no firm memory...might have been a ritz show..maybe with Tribe...anyone???). And then Jamar and X did that song "Check the fine print" with Artifacts dissing Puba.

This has been on my ipod since I bought it.

damn so you didn't own this album until after iPods were invented?

No, you twit - since I bought the ipod.

Never question my hip-hop credentials you Capadonna listening cretin.

you forgot to call him Chad.

    that's faux's fetish not Jonny's.

it was great seeing those dudes beat up the soundman out in LA, i guess it was back in '94. one of the funniest experiences ever!

They weren't the greatest live act around -
they got coined off the stage in Boston, early 90's ...

    I prefer the 2nd album.

Actually, that totally jogged my memory. I definitely saw them at the Ritz. They cut their show kind of short because they were screaming at the sound man. Classic hip hop performance strategy.

    ...in a bad way.

why you gotta do magnetic like that?

    I prefer the 2nd album.

As reluctant as I am to cast my lot in with the Lloyd Banks/Game/Cappadonna fanboys, I must admit that I do also.

First album is great, too, though.

I thought I was the only one who liked the second album better than the first.

Not to hop on the bandwagon...

The first album had better singles, but overall I gotta go with the 2nd.

Brand Nubian Rock the Set, Travel Jam, Love Me or Leave Me Alone, Punks Jump Up, Allahuakbar etc. It was solid all the way through.

me as well... at the time it came out it didn't seem like most other people felt that way about it, though. "punks jump up" and "love me or" were certified hits out here on the east coast regardless

I take it Magnetic likes Loyd Bank's music

    Yes

    and Cappadonna?

    That's all you player.

  • I love the 2nd album, but it was a lot darker than the first. Puba brought a bit of lightness to the group that I feel like they missed on "In god..." And "One for all" wasn't so heavy on god speak, which I think they over did a bit on #2.

    I vote #1

  • i cant decide between the two.
i think i like them about equaly, which is a lot.
however, what was up with the 3rd album? i could NEVER get into that one.

"One For All", "In God We Trust", "Everything is Everything", "Foundation" are all good for me.

One For All is a classic! One of the first record I bought when I started diggin' for records.
This one is special for me.

Also, I still like listening to "Everything is Everything" sometimes.

This has been on my ipod since I bought it. One of the best hip-hop ALBUMS ever.

On the real tip let's take a field trip from the ghetto
You pick the time and we'll meet in the meadow
to discuss racial issues and tension
New York's a powder keg did I forge to mention?
Now case in point y'all remember that Brooklyn Bridge joint
when things got wild and woolly?
Yeah that day the FEDS played the role of the bully.

one of his best raps! meeting in the meadow is so 1991 for me!
