Does anyone have a good source/website for personal bio information on the groups/artists who released strictly 45s on this small ohio label in youngstown... i'd be more specific in wanting to know about Lynn Minor and his Band, Iron Knowledge (group members? backround story ect?) thanks!! please check wants/trades for items off this label that I need.

I'm thinking this is a question for Dante:

  • sent an email while back, never got a response... figured i'd seek the info here. maybe i'll try once more again.

  • I am sure you are not the first guy looking for these bands/records, undoubtedly there is a line that you should get in back of.

a lot of the records on this label are relatively easy to track down. i did a short interview with the bassist of Iron Knowledge awhile back, it's supposed to be included in an upcoming issue of Waxpoetics. If that never happens I'll just post it here.

I am dead serious. I'll try to find my scan.

    There's also a different b-side. It's called "Oh Love."

I guarantee it. It's yellow with an cartoony image (as I recall) of the band in a car. Dante, correct me if I'm wrong about the exact image.

  • There is indeed a second Iron Knowledge record, but a picture sleeve has never crossed my eyes.
And I saw all of the stuff Tony March had before chumps got involved.

    Internet picture sleeve rumors.

Man, I've seen it. On eBay, to boot. I'm looking for the .jpg as I type this.

yes, he meant two 45s with "Show Stopper".

and on the picture sleeve, you must be thinking of something else.

  • A picture sleeve definitely exists, I was outbid for it on ebay last year.

Me, too. Finally! Some corroboration. I cannot find my .jpg of the auction. Did you retain yours? Yellow bkg with art on the obverse, and titles on the reverse, right? I'm positive that this had the "Ram" b-side and not the "Oh Love" flip.

You know that there have been more than 3 Iron Knowledge-related 45s sold on eBay in the last 2+ years. And as I recall, the auction didn't mention "pic sleeve" in the listing.

  • It went for about $75 or $80 if memory serves, and on reflection I was a bit too blase because it was pretty cool (I think I was 2nd bidder). I did save the jpg, but have since changed computers and can't find it now.
