The Evans Pyramid story just keeps getting better and better......
?
Did Re*d bring those to the swap?
I was there when he found those. Nice bassline
on that track - I can't remember what the song
is that it sort of jacks.
Dopest record Skye records ever put out. The Gary McFarland + Szabo team is just so damn perfect. The artwork is too.
naw, he didn't...another friend brought a copy before R*d got there. I got it for a more reasonable price than what it will probably fetch on the open market.
wonder how many of those there are around.....

Plus Finewine kicked my ass last night with some DISCOFUNK BANGER! Yeah, Finewine. DISCOFUNK BANGER.
Well, I know Re*d didn't have a TON of them - just a few ...
I could have bought one for a very reasonable price, but it
would have just been a piece of trade bait for me, not really
my thing, and I figured let somebody who REALLY wants it get one.
I already sold/traded all my copies of Evans Pyramid...kinda wish
I had held onto one.
Thank you to Mr. Aleit for hooking me up with this.
Destroying me for months now... As usual thanks to Good Records NYC.
Carl Perkins - On Top - Columbia '69
1969 LP from the Rockabilly legend, maintains his
signature sound, but updates it with a little wah-wah
guitar in the mix, a Bob Dylan cover, and a great funky
Rockabilly-with-Mod-Organ dancer called "Soul Beat"
Great stuff!
"lullaby from rosemary's baby" and "accept me" have been on constant rotation at the crib.
Maybe it's just becuase it's such an antidote to the overload of funk and hip hop I've experienced over christmas and the new year but this has been blissing me out for days.
yeah? how many did he have? its all kinda funny.
Everything EvansPyramid-related is all so haha
Which Pyramid are you talking about that you wished you kept, the 45 or the 12"?

etc.
you are welcome.
Sometimes you get the right record at the right time, and this has been the soundtrack to my post-vacation hustle. Shit has barely left the turntable since I got it. Oh also really digging this right now:
The 45 - those were 50 cent bin status for a while at IYE, that
move where he had a couple for $5, a few for $1, and a few in the
50 cents, maybe a little scuffed. I only had 3 or 4.
The new one I think he only had a few, although one never
knows with R.
yeah i picked up mine when it was a buck up front and he had a bunch there. It was some years ago and I just left it in my boxes cause I wasn't digging disco too much at the time. When it got hot a few years later i pulled it out and my tastes had changed! haha...
Can't wait to see what Andre Evans track comes up next!
