In these states Monday is Human/Civil Rights Day because they are so fucking white thay can't handle having 1 freaking day named after a black man. I new about the hub bub in Arizona years ago, but I never realized this was the end result. Crazy ass crackers!!!!!Correct me if I'm wrong. That is all..........PS December 10th is actually Human Rights Day!

Why do you write "F*UCK" and then you write "fucking" and the you write "freaking?"

But for real if that is legit then I might have to go and say fuck them as well. You know, maybe I'll say something like "I'll never play those states." Yeah, I think I might do that. Except I had a real gas last time I played Arizona.

I always thought it was Martin Luther King, JR. Day out here (my job at W**** F**** Bank refers to it that way, too).

I don't really concern myself with the official name, though, seeing as how I've never heard ANYBODY here refer to it as Civil Rights' Day. (To be honest, this is the first time I've ever seen it that way).

But if it's gonna keep Cosmo from playing out here, then f*ck my fuckin...I mean, f*ckin' government!!!

    Herm

P.S. Cos, you should come play my night in Tucson, hoLmes. That would be right on.

I just prefer a little self censorship in the titles, but once in the thread I don't care. I guess it's silly really. Kind of a "hey I'm gonna cuss in this thread warning".

That's good! My girlfiend just mentioned it, so in typical goof ball fashion I hit Wikapedia and then Soulstrut without further research. It's still messed up that states ever tried to fight it. I never realized Utah was one of them.

    this ain't shit.

in VA when MLK day finally passed through the general assembly, they had to also include Lee/Jackson day (that't Robert E. and Stonewall). that gives me an upcoming 4 day weekend though, so i just pretend like it's Spike Lee/Milt Jackson day.

same shit in SC. they had to pass Confederate Memorial day to get MLK Day through. i wish i was kidding.

    sickening.

Very good call, I only get off for MLK day though so I guess I will have to celebrate lee/jackson day from work.

We had "Confederate Veterans' Day" off when I worked for the state of Georgia--such a bad look.

There was this slightly addled older secretary who was active in the Daughters of the Confederacy there that once solicited a donation from me to help preserve some collection of Confederate battle flags--about the least worthy cause I can conceive of.

You should have given her a book of matches.

She also used to publish poetry inspired by her Confederate ancestors in the organization's newsletter. It was weird.

I need to correct myself regarding VA. Just had a discussion with a co-worker.

Lee Day has existed since Reconstruction and Jackson was added shortly thereafter. VA tends to be a little different from most southern states in both good and bad ways.

What I said about SC is true.

So what's your point with Ted Turner here? Huh? I know he's one of you people's punching bags. You know with the, the Liberal Media Agenda pushed by CNN (that he sold years ago)? Or wait, I got it! All that money he gave to that evil freedom hating organization: the United Nations.
