    first foray of '07:

i cracked open the Brother/Hood Nation to find it was pretty good '92 rap with a
dash of JA style here and there. definitely influenced by PE, LONS, BDP, etc early
90s stuff. Dont sleep on your essential tornado warning breaks (j/k)

the phone sex 12" is pretty funny, some chick going ballistic, all pissed off.
finally found that leon haywood, so i can pretend to be Dr Dre now.

the black one is the Damned "the black album" which ive never seen before for
some odd reason. the other 5 are all tripped out finds for me, never seen any
    of em before.

Heads is ok. Calliope is meh. Ford's Theatre is cool. Unfamiliar with the other two.

I've been wanting to check out that second Chris Clark
(billed as just "CC" there) album for a while...if nothing
else, the fact that it is on a Motown subsidiary called "WEED"
that uses the slogan "All Your Favorite Artists are On WEED" is
    pretty cool in itself.

How is the Phoenix LP in the bottom pic?

I have the Heads and like it, downtempo stoner psych soul,
wasn't all that impressed with the Ford Theater myself.

Augustus Pablo, Horace Andy, ?, and ? are on the cover right?
And how much did Paycheck squeeze out of you for it?

    I got some records:

Got the Vampisoul comp with a gift card from Christmas - good call
on my part, it's a great set. It has massive liner notes, but they
    are in Spanish
Music Machine was eBay, cross off a heavy want, so good.
The rest are all cheap bin finds - the Paul Horn
looks all schlocky, but has very cool (and well-recorded)
jazzy covers of Satisfaction, Eight Miles High, Girl, etc...
but nutty record of the week goes to the Lulu, from 1976
on Chelsea, mostly Nolan-produced disco-pop, but out
of nowhere in the middle of the second side are 2 David
Bowie covers, "Man Who Sold the World" and "Watch That Man"
produced by and featuring Mick Ronson and Bowie himself!

Got a few 45's too, a couple of the better ones:

The Popular Five one was eBay, and the seller said it was
in a "company sleeve" which had me all psyched thinking it
was a "Mister Chand" sleeve, but they meant parent label Mercury.

That record actually isn't good, and I'm a big fan of her early work

The 'Weed' label wasn't all that impressive to me either, but only b/c I've copped several 60s promo LPs at the same store with the station letters 'WEED' scrawled across the sleeves in back marker

  • wasn't all that impressed with the Ford Theater myself.

A lot of people don't seem to like the Time Changes LP but I prefer it to their Trilogy For The Masses LP (the one most people seem to rate highly).

  • i got that extra ball record! its nice, got it early december.

got this one yesterday, good swedish record.

its up now, for 7 days or 100 downloads, whichever comes first:
    http://download.yousendit.com/B95CB1EB18FFA2D3
i included a photo of the front and back covers, detailed enough so you can read the liner notes.

im curious what people think of this. to me, its a pretty good rap production for a small label in 1992. enjoy!
