here is some stuff i found over the past week. most of it is stuff i pulled in memphis but a couple records are from chicago. memphis is a nice town...foodwise and music/recordwise. most pieces were on the cheap and in crisp shape...especially in memphis.
rumple-stilts-skin the band aka kleeer truth and devotion (this is a dope modern-soul gospel record with some heat on it...from 1981)
delfonics lee dorsey please little royal ( sealed. )
travis biggs billy griffin al johnson zz hill
souls of mischeif latimore the session ( cool army stage band record from the early 70's with some electric piano instrumental funk joints ) franco micalizzi ost ( some moody loopz for the headzzz )
hell yeah...on 12" with the stoke on the flip. ( found this at a thrift down by graceland! )
45s cold grits-it's your thing/bring it on home to me undisputed truth-smiling faces sometimes rhythm makers-prime cut/zone fabulous counts-jan jan/girl from kenya charles w. and watts 103rd-high as apple pie/solution for pollution
i was buying some x-mas gift cd's at the rock/pop cd store around the corner, checked the 2 crates of second hand vinyl they have... and found the khemistry lp. 80's soul heads know the deal.
When I got to work this morning, there was a bag of records sitting on my desk. Not sure who put them there, as no one here knows that I DJ or collect records or anything like that.
This is what was in the bag:
Roberta Flack - Oasis LP The KLF - Last Train to Trancentral Steve Winwood - Back in the High Life Again Musical Youth - Different Style Ace of Base - Never Gonna Say I'm Sorry a Big Chill compilation Andre Kostelanetz and His Orchestra Soul Train Hall of Fame compilation Too Short- Life is Too Short 12" Oldies but Goodies compilation
Nothing or anything, but still kind of funny to find records sitting on my desk.
I have no idea who put these here as over half the staff of the company isn't even working today.
Today I found: MUSIC TO STRIP BY MUSIC FOR TRUCK DRIVERS JAZZ SAMPLER OLD NYC SOUND EFFECTS SYNCHRONICITY- THE POLICE JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR CONCEPT ALBUM 1 German LP, and an Austrian LP (polka)
45s: Get Back/Don't Let me Down (The Beatles, duh) and one other Beatles
Visiting the god bothering ??n-laws... so in between some freaky Xmas prayer ceremonies that reduced half of them to tearful, wailing, hugging machines and cooking them Xmas lunch I pulled a few - all in excellent condition. No t/table here though - or for next 2 weeks either as we're off on far flung camping holiday - so any comments / thoughts on these welcomed.
The Chambers Brothers - A New Time A New Day Galapagos Duck - The Ebony Quill Marva Josie - This is Marva Josie (feat. He Does It Better from G.Peterson 'Digs America' comp)

I'm back after 2 weeks without cable or internet. I can thank this big ass tree for that!
I missed all you assholes. What did I do you ask? I read books (the paper things that have words inside), paid attention to my family (those people who live in your house) and found a few nice records!
Records found down Florida way (Jax, St. Augustine, Daytona and Orlando) in between courses. The highlights:
LP's-
The Main Street Singers - Sunday Ride (Universal Audio) Laura - S/T (Ovation) Terry Manning - Home Sweet Home (Enterprise) Bugaloos - S/T (Capitol) Tin House - S/T (Epic) Direct Current - S/T (TEC) Tim Buckley - Lorca (Elektra) Positive Noise - Heart of Darkness (Statik) Gene Nordan - Drinkin' Wine in the Summer Time (Genesis) Ralph McTell - Easy (Reprise) Eddie Palmieri - Unfinished Masterpiece (Coco) xmas present Morning Sky - Sea of Dreams (private press) my favorite. really cool jazzy prog psych with femme vocals from New Hampshire circa 1976.
7"s-
Floating Bridge - Don't Mean a Thing/Mr. Jaybird (Vault) non-LP cuts The Kings Ransom - Shadows of Dawn/Street Car (Integra) The Boys - Sticks and Stones/Rocks in My Head (Lowery Music) Listening - Hello You/Life Stories (Vanguard) non-LP cuts The Amboy Dukes - Flight of the Byrd (Mainstream) The Amboy Dukes - Loaded for Bear/For His Namesake (Mainstream) Human Beinz - This Little Girl of Mine/I've Got to Keep Pushing (Capitol) Dalton, James and Sutton - Run Baby/One Time Around (National General) Five by Five - Good Connection/ Never (Paula) Cher - Chatisty's Song/I Walk on Guilded Splinters (Atco)
Right click? what's that? Ain't no right click in the Mac world. I like my big pics, it keeps the spirit of Soufriere/K in Canada (before his fall from grace) alive!
oof, naw, I would have been bragging if it were OG -
I'll admit I got that 2-second jolt when I came across it, especially since it was in a dusty "Spoken Word" box on the floor, under a pile of records...it was definitely where you WOULD find an OG...glad to have a copy of it anyway, though, and seems like even this press is kinda scarce now. Such an incredible album.

That Jorge Ben was unplayed store stock OG, $25.
Everything else was a couple of bucks.
Lucecita isn't any kind of funk psych earth scorcher,
but does have some cool 60's Puerto Rican pop, like this:
Lucecita - Solitaria de Amor
jujus for a couple bucks?
