    Another year where it would be easier to compile a top 5 .

    Off the top of my head it would probably consist of the following:

    Top 5 (in no particular order):

    Clipse - Hell Hath No Fury
    Trae - Restless
    Ghostface - Fishscale
    TI - King
    Killer Mike - I Pledge Allegiance To The Grind

    Then:

    Snoop Dogg - Tha Blue Carpet Treatment
    Dogg Pound - Cali Is Active
    P Diddy - Press Play
    Justin Timberlake - Future Sex
    Juvenile - Reality Check or Ray Cash - Cash On Delivery

    The last two may be replaced by Lil Wayne & Birdman - Like Father Like Son, Project Pat - Crook By Da Book or Young Jeezy - Thug Motivation 102 though I haven't had the chance to listen to each more than a couple of times yet.

    I live in hope that Nas will force me to reappraise my list.

    80's new-wave-feeling mixed with nu-soul vocals, production influenced by jay dee, tons of vintage synths, great melodies and enough weirdness to keep you interested = my pick for numero uno

    I think that Busta Rhymes' album this year deserves mention. I don't think the Soulstrut Massive was feeling it all that much but compared to everything else that came out this year, at least in the world of rap, it was one of the better releases in my opinion.

    I think that Busta Rhymes' album this year deserves mention. I don't think the Soulstrut Massive was feeling it all that much but compared to everything else that came out this year, at least in the world of rap, it was one of the better releases in my opinion.

    I'm gonna take back some of my earlier hate--I put it in a few days ago and relaized that this album sounds much better now that the temperature's dropped.

    It was all wrong for summer.

    i got the heads up about this album a few months back and for some reason totally ignored it. i just heard a few of thier tracks last week and was really impressed. i need to cop that soon.

    Phonics what did you think of the steve spacek album from last year


    For the Owasu:
    It's a real "goofy" album at times, some songs are straight acoustic while other have the new-wave soul thing happening.

    I never checked out the Steve Spacek LP. I can't really say I'm a big fan outside of "Eve" and the G.B. single. But to be honest, I'm not much of an album person as I once was either.

    At times apples and oranges but at times they both share a common sound. Still, you can't really compare the two.
