Does anyone have any breakdancing mixes they can upload? I'm learning how to breakdance now and would love to have some mixes with a selection intended for breakers (hip-hop/breakbeats/whatever). If you don't have one yourself, can you recommend any?

Thanks.

  • I heard about DJ Leacy from here, and I'm loving it. I'll try to upload some of his mixes in a bit.

  • Deejay Bird - B-Boy Your Best (1999) is REALLY fucken good, I just can't find my CD of it.

This is all you need http://www.forrestgetemgump.com/ or http://cdbaby.com/cd/getemgump .....one of the best break DJ's around.......

  • I have something for you, but it's at home. I can upload it when I get home tonight. I made what is best described as a bboy breakbeat production. It's kinda like a mix but it's kinda like a beat. It's a 20 minute long continuous mix of bboy breaks and a couple loops and samples here and there, all sped up to a common tempo. I made it for the top bboy crew in my city (GWT), they used to perform to it on stage at hip hop shows. I will try my best to remember ot upload it tonight.

D.Castillo (fellow strutter-moderator) put out a really solid mix last year - "Do your thing". I picked mine up at T.T Lab (no pharcyde), but not sure if they still carry it.

Considering the life of a breakdancer typically revolves around dancing to the same 20 songs for years on end, his mix is a nice change of pace.

Delay recommended DP One to me and I ended up copping "Body Language" from his crew's site...

No offense Ayers, but personally I don't think your mix will fly well with many bboys. I've been dancing for about 8 years here in las vegas. I'm not trying to speak as a representative of all bboys, but I can tell you, my crew wouldn't want to dance to that mix. However, i can see it doing well for the beginning boogaloos, and kids getting into popping. Maybe I'm being a little close minded, but if Jam on it, and Planet Rock came on in a club, I'd probably head to the bar.

  • DJ Element

    That's the dude right there.

There used to be some guy around here that made a somewhat decent B-Boy mix. DCaligula or DCastlelager or something like that. I saw him spin a set at the Litterthugz show next Monday.

    Frizzle fresh.

lean rock is one of the future big dj.
but yeah, as everybody said : check dj ben, dj woodo, dj leacy mixtapes.
and the cd by rob life (uk) too !

  • Here's a 20 minute mix i did It's been up in the Announcements section for a couple of weeks, but as we were on the topic here it is in case anyone missed it.

    http://www.purepleasuremusic.com/mixes/media/31.mp3

There's a really strong B-boy DJ scene in the Uk, all spinning good original beats, including DJ Just 1, Timber, Dek One, Credit One, The P Brothers etc. A lot of people have been inspired by the great DJ Leacy (RIP).

And yeah Roro, Lean Rock is dope!

his mixtape is all like 90s rap breaks. and i dont think he is that disco he did spice up the break game a lot by putting out new shit.

  • I saw you found what you want, but here this is as promised. It's all original breaks, no electro, no new stuff. 20 minutes. Please check it out. It's a little rough but it should work well for practicing a routine.

check dj basic's (of LGA) never forgive action series. vol 1 thru 3

dj ben gets jocked hard in the US, but its hit or miss cause people tend to classify him as strictly disco breaks
