What is your favorite Jay Dee beat CD and does anyone have a list of all the beat CDs that are floating around? My favorite is the "Another batch" Beat CD from 98. 38 CLASSIC Jay Dee joints. I never get tired of listening to this one.Jay Dee R.I.P.

    that might be my favorite Dilla shit ever, actually. The way he chops that song up is totally brilliant.

    on the whole I think my favorite Another Batch, too, though.

    Another Batch is my favorite always.


    But right now I love the Dime Piece remix beat and the first Bonus track off of Fantastic vol. 2

    ...flatline? love the way he used giorgio moroder for that e=mc2 beat.
    I really didn't like the shining version as much with the heaviery drums.

    and also, whatever beat CD that has the Crucifix and Bittersweet beats.

    ooo, oo Also, the "you and your smile" beat and the "make them" beat - I love how you can count it three different ways, the strings drop out on the 3rd. so nice.

    Jay Dee had a way of making things sound slightly out but so in at the same time. .
