Riff off of the Noir thread. I need a full on queue revamping...I don't know how it got this bad? Many of the obvious movies on the list (amarcord, sin city, etc.) are on there to *cough* [censored]. But the others...well, I don't know. Maybe it's Netflix? I just can't seem to find shit on there and I'm pretty sure they are delaying my shipments. What was that other jert? Greensin? Greencine? PLAESE help. Anything. Post your queue or whatever. Thanks. Winter Passing
i just watched this. i dont think i'd recommend it. the shots between scenes were good, but the movie was kinda depressing except for Will Ferrel. It was ok, but not as engaging as maybe it could have been given the plot. Maybe a little predictable.

i'd prolly pick Riding in Cars With Boys over Winter's Passing on the sad tip.

Move 24 Hour Pary People up the queue and take Velvet Goldmine OUT entirely.

    Never heard of it!

Just rewatched (3rd time? 4th time?) one of the greatest movies ever made:

Such a great (and hilarious) commentary on society on so many levels with a near-perfect script by Paddy Chayefsky and amazing acting from a stellar cast.

BTW it was courtesy of this boxset which has two of the other greatest movies ever made:

"Hi I'm Sidney Lumet and though I'm usually quite modest, Marco wanted me to tell all of you that I direct actors better than anybody in the business. Ask my friend Al."

"Sid, you got me two of my first best actor nominations. I'll definitely ride for you dog."

Tristam Shandy: A Cock and Bull story

    Both seasons of Carnivale

I got you on 1.5 of 2. Shandy is smartt hott (although not quite on 24 HPP level), and Carnivale is probably one of the most underrated major shows in the last 5 years - but it tailed off in season 2 for sure. It's very telling how the Q&A doc on the 1st season DVD included footage of an HBO exec telling a pleased audience of fans that "we'll stick with it for as long as it takes" (paraphrased). The 2nd season has the exact same doc, for some stupid reason, but it omits her weighty promise. If it hadn't been cancelled and the quality had been maintained through its fruition, Carnivale would have been one of my favorite series of all time. Like Twin Peaks (but TP is still in my top 5). The two had one other thing in common:
