traditionally for me it's been "A House is Not a Motel", but lately I've been loving "The Good Humor Man He Sees Everything Like This".

    Can't name one.

I came into work late so I could listen to Da Capo and Forever Changes all the way through.

    PERFECT!

Traditionally its been exclusively tunes off Forever Changes, too ("Andmoreagain" above all else). But lately I've been feeling "Singing Cowboy" off Four Sail.

Four Sail is criminally slept on IMO. But in my opinion there's 3 different loves: Forever Changes, pre-Forever Changes and post-Forever Changes.

Too tough to name one but The Red Telephone and Maybe the People.... are two of my favourite songs of all time never mind just Love. To be honest I wouldn't consider skipping one track on that album though.

Outside Forever Changes I always really liked She Comes In Colours, was years before I knew what it was actually about.

True that. Arthur Lee was the only original member on Four Sail, so it does sound like the completely different band it is.

Reminds me I gotta revisit the guitar-heavy 'Vindicator' this weekend.
Any other thoughts on Arthur's solo work?

Doggone is still the hardest hitting break of all time.

Here's 4, one from each of the really good albums:

    "Signed D.C."

    "The Castle"

"Maybe the People Would be the Times...." (sick, sick trumpet on the bridge)

    "Dream"

Also, "Robert Montgomery" is almost the best Neil Young song ever.

If I go by "most played"
I'll say "You Set the Scene" or "Message to Pretty"
but I really have to say too many to answer honestly.

  • OK, just so we are all clear we are talking about the GROUP "Love", whose founder/frontman/brain just passed on...

    NOT LOVE SONGS.

  • 2 that haven't been mentioned yet:

    "Laughing Stock"
    "Gather Round"

  • The Daily Planet

    w/LOVE
    "Signed D.C."

    Solo:
    "Hamburger Breath Stinkfinger"

First time I saw Arthur was when he opened up for the very wasted Eric Clapton during his "461 Ocean Boulevard" Tour.

Arthur came out in dress and blew me away.

I should have left before Crapton took the stage.

    R.I.P. Mr. Lee

    for me

either "the red telephone" or "the daily planet"...

and it took me a few years to grasp "forever changes"... i was into "little red book", "7 and 7 is" and "stephanie knows who" and thought FC was pussy shit... now i think it's the perfect pop record...

it was tempting to write a list of my favorite love songs like half of the people in this thread haha, but I'll just go with "the red telephone" for now.

i certainly am a GUILTY convict

i have to admit that 91% of my input on soulstrut shall continue to be unrelated.
please take me as background noise, i am only able to splurk at wurk.

i do enjoy moments of escape into bulletin reality

    so a LOVE song...
    12 minutes of "Doggone"

    love beats hate
(i think i should take my shlitts to the heartbreakhotel.com)
