Speakers....

anyone recomend some inexpensive speakers to have for playing out... I have a stereo but I was thinking about the ones that you can straight plug into your mixer without an amp. Anything for the $400-500 range?

    Are you looking for powered monitors for the dj booth or powered PA speakers?

    the jbl eon's are light and heavy. be on the lookout for any used ones. they usually last a beating.

    I've had good luck with JBLs. Most of the time when I wasn't djing out regularly I found it was cheaper to rent the gear I needed. Depending on how often you are playing out you might look into that. Otherwise, those JBL EONs are nice.

    i dont really like those eons. sound pretty harsh to me.
