Hi Aser!
K.
read a cook's tour, fo sho. then, watch 'no reservations'. best food tv going today. the montreal episode is my favorite...he does a 15 course foie gras menu that is fucking ridiculous.
kitchen - the foie gras ep was filmed @ au pied du cochon
Is that the one with the Tobacco Ice Cream???
nah, that is the French laundry in Napa Valley...
yes Bourdian is the man, even writes fiction and wrote a biography of Typhoid Mary...
The Peru episode is my favorite, also Indonesia was cool, he went to Bali and ate this roasted pig basted in Coconut water, turned the skin into coconut candy....
yeah, after seeing the man who is the genius behind that joint, it jumped into the top 5 of restaurants i gotta get my ass to. that is my favorite segment he's ever done...

According to the website of the production company who does the show, they made the El Bulli episdode into a miniseries.
And, to whoever said it up top, Chicago is still on my list...a friend ate w/ Grant Aschatz of Alinea last year, and I'd love to eat there. Not just a foie gras fan; just like food in general.
Au pied du cochon is one of the things I miss most about Montreal. Meals there were always memorable and, more times than not, inspired.
Most people do. It's one of those books. Haven't read anything else of his though.

Not in the same rootin' tootin' easy to read style as Bourdains but very good nonetheless.
Having scrolled down the link, seem Mr. Bordain also rates it too.
