Best Hip-Hop song of 1986 would be "Eric B. Is President" Runner ups would be "My Adidas" "Make The Music With Your Mouth Biz" or cuts from The Beastie Boys LP or Doug E. Fresh LP from 86.
You have some pretty suspect selections for "The best" hip-hop song of the year for most of the years you listed. The Quasimoto, RJD2, Wildchild(?) and Madvillain do not belong on the list. Plaese to get serious like Steady B.
Thanks, since I allready have Erik B and Rakim in 1987 I will take RUN DMC for 1986.
From 2000 on I am quite unsure what to take. The Wildchild Track is Fire (Madlib production at his best & Percee P) I don't know any better track for 2002. But since there are 4 Stones Throw releases and three Madlib productions from 2000 - 2004 I think I should change someting. So what to take from 2000 till 2005???
2000 = JUVENILE "BACK THAT ASS UP"
I think you picked a tough mix to do, because essentially, what was good in the mid 90's is very different from the late 90's and 2000's. I mean your mix has continuity because all of the shit you picked from 1999 on has kind of a throw back style. I mean trying to sum up a whole year with one song is kind of crazy and you have some big gaps. No Dre, Timberland, or Neptunes. Also where the hell is BIG.
Did you spend four whole years on the Stones Throw messageboard without going outside?
I wish I would have seen this when you first posted it. I would have helped you delete it. You are about to enter a world of humiliation.I can't wait to hear the mix.
...there is no way that this thread has been up for this long an faux hasn't responded yet
I like that Copywrite is on the best rap song of 2001.
Or pick up 200th Edition of The Source.
