    B.I.G. - Things Done Changed

Yes. Man, the first time I heard that...wow...

On "Word...Life," I'd nominate "Creative Control," and "Time's Up," if you're counting the first one as an intro. "CC" is probably my favorite short rap song.

Gansta records always seem to have have the best opening tracks. Got to give it up for that Black Sheep track too, hilarity.

A few of these are not the first cuts on the album they appear on.

My knee-jerk reaction was, "The N***a You Love To Hate," followed one nanosecond later by, "Straight Outta Compton." But man, "Peter Piper," "Bring the Noise," "I Ain't No Joke," "Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em"...I can't front on any of those in the slightest.

Serious choice: Jay Z: Million and one questions--off of In my lifetime part 1.

Less serious choice. Eminem "Any Man" First cut after intro on the greatest recorded example of artistry representing the human spirit, Soundbombing II.

on the greatest recorded example of artistry representing the human spirit, Soundbombing II.

not to thread jack, but is this any where near a true statement? Sound Bombing Vol. 1 was pretty blah to me, and while i picked up many of the singles on Vol. 2, I never thought of the album as being anywhere near "the greatest recorded example of artistry representing the human spirit".

    That being said,[/b]
when a "best mix tape" thread shows up a lot of people (with what i consider good taste) tell me how great this album is.

are people sipping on the final drops of Rawkus water delusionment or is this really that good of a record?

Road to the Riches - Kool G Rap

And, actually, I've long argued that this album deserves the award for best first THREE songs on a rap album:

    Road to the Riches
    It's a Demo
    Men at Work

Those three tracks back to back were like crack for me as a kid
