Funk Versions of Hendrix Songs...

I'm wanting to compile a list of Funk Versions of Hendrix Songs so i can take it with me when i dig, any sort or any cover versions you think i should track down, but with a funk flavour.I only got a couple in my collection so fire away dudes!!

    Yeah i been meaning to copp that for a while as hendrix was supposed to be going to colab with him....thanks dudes...this list is looking better already !

    phil upchurch has some cool hendrix stuff on his black gold album on chess

    The Gino Washington "Love Bandit" comp LP
    on Norton has a funky instro of "Foxey Lady"
    that's worth checking out.


    And co-sign on the Johnny Jones - I can re-up the MP3
    I posted when I copped the 45 a couple of weeks ago, but
    not until I get home from work.

    phil upchurch has some cool hendrix stuff on his black gold album on chess

    that lp is called upchurch

    i love that record. i totally forgot about it. a wonderful lp by phil. his best record to me. i regret not buying the other one on chess which sounds just as good. but those hedrix covers are

    i'm going through the my list now doing some research, this Phil Upcurch LP was causing some confusion, now i know it's on Cadet and it has Crosstown Traffic AND Voodoo Chile i must have this album !

    I been looking on ebay ( spit spit ) i've only found one, it's got a different cover and is a US pressing on a different label,

    i'm thinking it must be a Re-issue,i'm not even sure if it's the same album, i think it is
    Upchurch is the one produced by John Tropea and George Benson ?

    covers still quite cool, not as dope as that on cadet !
    contacted the dude but in good ebay style he hasn't got back to me...yet. apologies for my stupidity on this, there is so much still to learn in the world of wax !

    that's a later album, the one you want is from about '69.
    It's about $40-50 or so last I checked

    Thanks man, i can see where i went wrong, competely the wrong LP, i'm gonna put some leg work into this this weekend, i reallly want this LP now.

    Also any Latin Funk Versions or different language Hendrix Tracks too if there are any...not asking much am i...this is going somewhere trust me!

    This record is crazy, I thought it was a joke at first since my army dj buddy stationed in Germany said it's dime a dozen there. I'm guessing they didn't officially license the songs lol
