I'll give you three reasons:
He raps like a mummy.
He lacks any discernable personality.
He has never given anybody any reason to think of him as anything more than 50's li'l mans.
which is pathetic considering how no-talent 50 is himself. the entire crew is bammer (yes, even young suck).
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Does not like rap
One of the hottest mixtapes to come out this year, dont judge it by it's cover.
plaese to make a banks in bandages graemlin. mike 2600?
50 is a passable rapper yes, but you really got no love for his hooks? Whether you like him or not, dude has an innate ability to write songs, beyond the papoose's and saigons, his shit is fully formed for the mass market appeal, beyond "the streets". His shit is blatantly accesible, which is why your little sister loves it. Regadless, he makes hits, and as hard as it is for real heads to accept, hes done some classic joints. I love hip hop, and I'm not speaking on whether 50's been good for the music/culture, but dudes got charisma and personality, and not that many dudes these days write hooks like him....
But he's(DMX) entertaining when interviewed. Check out this interview and click on those play icons and you can watch small video sections. Especially the last one.

Is it me or does he seem mad hyper-active?
DMX fell off because of his drug problems, not because of 50.
I thought the drugs were only a front while he and Seagal worked on saving DMX's brother?
^^^^ fine, OK up till here, though I happen to think his hooks are terrible, I can see what you're saying.
NO. ever seen him act/in interviews? dude is only slightly more charismatic than Fabulous or Black Thought (to name only two comatose rappers). his songs may be hot, but "he" has no charisma/personality to speak of.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Does not like other people.

hatter
and really...who couldn't do without some johnny paycheck in their lives.
If I got away with complimenting 50 without at least one strutter chiming in, I was gonna say this board really fell off. But yeah, as much as I try and avoid these interviews, I know what you mean. He did come off well one of the few times I saw him (on Conan), but he's not a dynamic personality like say, Hammer circa '90. Regardless, I was talking about on record. I think the lisp has softened his hardcore appeal, and on record his persona comes off as uniquely appealing to both the streets and the ever-important female market. Again, I think he's pretty much an average rapper, but as of the last couple years, for non-southern rap, 50's broad appeal is pretty much incontested.

I AIN'T NEVER HEARD OF 50.
yo is that a jake one beat?
Oddly enough, the guy that did that cover(I think at least), Miami Kaos, gets more cover work then anyone(mixtape wise).
