Niagara-Sangandongo---a solid, if overrated long jam, but pretty great. CAN-Halleluwah is my current favorite song to listen to in my car (all 18 minutes)

Papa Don't Take No Mess, Donny Hathaway-The Ghetto (the live version), S.O.U.L.-SOUL, Harlem River Drive, What's Up Front That--Counts, Billy Brooks, not to mention good jazz and early hip hop songs, as well as lots of latin descargas.

Fave epics? The Yardbirds, George Jones, Sly & the Family Stone, the Remains, Ram Jam, Johnny Paycheck, Wayne Cochran, Link Wray, the Swampseeds, Johnny Otis, Shuggie Otis, the Dictators - yeah, Epic Records was always one of my favorite labels!

    SERIOUSLY, now...fave LONG SONGS?
    - Isaac Hayes, "I Stand Accused"
    - Baby Huey, "A Change Is Gonna Come"
    - Bob Dylan, "Joey"
    - Eddie Harris, "Exodus" (of course, in jazz long songs are a given)
    - Eddie Kendricks, "Girl, You Need A Change Of Mind"
    - Junior Parker, "Funny How Time Slips Away"
    - Billy Vera & the Beaters, "Here Comes The Dawn Again"

as of late its Tabou Combo "New York City" from the 8th Sacrament LP. This song sold in the millions and its 10 minutes long, but to me it seems like 3 minutes. I cant help but get transfixed on the rhythmn guitar played by JC Jean, dude is a machine, a guitar equivilent to Can's drummer Jaki. Amazing.

Yes - actually one of the few LP's I also bought on CD to get
the extras. I like the instros and the one take where Arthur is
going off on dude - "no, man! you just don't get it! YOU ARE PLAYING
    TOO FAST."

    Donald Byrd - Little Rasti

Doesn't even get going until a good few minutes in but I wouldn't change a single second of it's 18 minutes.
