    From a psychological point of view, I find Lassie to be a more complex and deeper character that Benji.

    Lassie brings up feelings of sterile 50's culture, not really my cup of tea. Kind of like the John Watne or Elvis of dogs.

    Benji's got that cool, wacky 70s Disney vibe going on. A real scrapper, no hoity toity uptown pure bred bullshit. He took care of mountain lion cubs. Hard. A real dude among dogs.

    I wonder what a current superhero dog should be like. I imagine a dog in conflict with his life, not sure if he wants to be a superhero. Kinda depressed and shit.

    what about Beethoven or old yeller?

    Concordia University in Montreal used to show kids' movies on Saturdays and my Mom always took me. I saw Old Yeller there and it DEVASTATED me when he died. that was the first movie I cried at and felt sad about for a while after.

    The OG Shaggy Dog is the funniest shit in the world. Boy changes into dog, hot rods, communist plots, voodoo. I watched it stoned off my ass the first time I saw it and I was rolling.

    heard this was amazing for so long and then finally saw it a couple of years ago...i did not like it at all.



    anyone see this? the concept in interesting (dog trained to be racist) and it's by Sam Fuller whose movies I love AND it has Kristy McNichol in it (which should have actually raised a red flag), but it's weak and very movie of the week.
