My "Shift" Button only works about 30% of the time.I swapped it with the "0" Button, but the problem persists.I've had my MPC2000XL for 6 years. It could be wear.Does anyone have word on a remedy?

I wouldn't know where to begin with that one.
Have you seen this new OS @ http://www.akaipro.com/supportos.html ?

It says "OS V1.20 for the MPC2000XL MCD drives only"
I wasn't able to find any information on what was actually updated.

  • that OS is optimised for the new (old) multi card reader drives. If you ain't got that type of drive you don't need it

I sent an email to the AKAI Repair people:

    Brandon,

Chances are that the actual tact switch needs to be replaced. The
switches are about $7.50 and we would charge 1 hr. labor ($65) to replace
1-5 switches (if the shift is going the you may have some others that will
    get less responsive over time).

    Best Regards
